Lee Charities recently had the honor of bringing together more than 60 nonprofit organizations from across Baldwin County for an evening centered on something we don’t do often enough, pausing to recognize the people doing the work.

In a space where so many are constantly giving, stretching resources, and carrying the weight of the communities they serve, this night was about giving back to them. It was a chance to step out of the day-to-day and into a room full of peers who understand the work, the challenges, and the heart behind it.

Throughout the evening, guests were not only celebrated but supported through grant funding, moments of connection, and small acts of care like massages, staycations, and other thoughtful gifts designed to pour back into those who are always pouring out.

We were proud to award major grants to several organizations making a meaningful impact in our community:

• Worship on the Water Flora-Bama — $50,000

• South Baldwin Literacy Council — $50,000

• Foster Kids Matter — $25,000

• One More Moment — $25,000

 

But beyond the funding, what made the evening so powerful was the room itself.

Because when nonprofits are connected, when they have space to share, collaborate, and support one another—it strengthens the entire fabric of Baldwin County. This work was never meant to be done in isolation, and nights like this remind us just how much stronger we are together.

This event marks the beginning of what we hope becomes a meaningful tradition. One that continues to grow, deepen connections, and invest not just in individual organizations, but in the collective impact of a community that shows up, again and again.
